How Well does the iOS 8.0.2 Work on iPad 3
Are you planning to upgrade to the latest version of the iOS? Do you want to know if it will work fine on your iPad 3? We reviewed the iOS 8.0.2 and here is what we think of it. We suggest you try a demo of the operating system by renting an iOS 8.0.2-installed device from an iPad rental provider.
Interestingly, Apple will soon be releasing the second update too, in the form of 8.1. So if you are in no hurry, you can always wait for the second update rather than opting for iOS 8.0.
As far as the performance is concerned, you may not face any grave issues with the update. However, you may come across a few small issues, which can be neglected.
If you expect the update to extend the battery life of your device rented from an iPad rental store, you will be disappointed. Even after installing the update, you will be able to go only 10 hours without charging your iPad 3. However, what the update will give you is an incredibly longer standby time.
Your iPad 3 might take some time in loading certain heavy apps after the update. However, the apps won’t crash on iPad 3 unlike the newer devices – iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which have seen certain apps crashing constantly after the update.
You will certainly not find your iPad 3 working any faster after installing the update. In fact, you will find it running comparatively slower than iOS 7. It will not destroy your whole iPad experience, but it won’t make it any better either.
What about bugs and fixes?
The operating system will not show up any major issues on your iPad 3. So you can consider installing the latest update on the iPad rented from a iPad rental store rather than having it work on your newer iPhone (iPhone 6 and 6 Plus).
Even with connectivity, you will not experience any major issues. Connecting to WiFi will be smooth and so will be listening to music via Bluetooth headphones.
Should you go for the update?
Clearly, the update will not do anything extraordinary to your iPad 3. Your experience with the device will pretty much remain the same as it was with iOS 7.1.2. So we think its better to wait for the release of iOS 8.1 and see if that can make your device rented from an iPad rental store any better. Till then, you can enjoy some more days with your existing iOS.
