Maingear Pulse 15

Ultra-portable gaming laptops belonged to a very niche category a few years ago and there were hardly any buyers for such kind of laptops. However, over a period of time, it has grown significantly and laptop manufacturers are now making laptops solely for gaming purposes. The Maingear Pulse 15 belongs to such a category with its light and ultra-thin design. However, the 15-inch screen of this laptop is quite big to be categorized under ultra-portable. The Pulse 15 is the bigger and better version of the Pulse 14 with a slimmer chassis and high-resolution display.

The Pulse 15 sports an all metal design which is sturdy as well as slim at the same time making it the perfect gaming laptop that you can carry around easily thanks to its weight which is just 3.9 pounds. This is something truly remarkable as no one would have imagined a gaming laptop which is so light. Although it gets really hot if you play a demanding game on it for a very long time, but when compared to some of the other gaming laptops the Pulse 15 performs much better. The Pulse 15 is quite similar to the MSI Ghost Pro in terms of the sleek design, the only differentiating factor between the two is the wide choice of colors available with Pulse 15.

The In-Plane Switching panel that boasts a resolution of 2880-by-1620 is a complete treat while playing any game. Although there are some glitches when it comes to reflectivity on the glass, it is still a lot better when you compare it to full HD screens. The sound quality is amazing thanks to the integrated sub-woofer and the built-in SoundBlaster. The keyboard is quite functional with colored back-lighting and it doesn’t lock up when you press several keys together which happens quite frequently while gaming. The touch-pad is quite spacious, but there are no distinct right and left click buttons, so that may be an issue with gamers.

There are a total of three USB 3.0 ports with a single SD card slot, HDMI port and a mini DisplayPort. There are no issues with regards to space as you will get more than enough space with the 1 TB hard drive combined with two 128 GB solid-state drives. In terms of software do not expect too much as you will just find the Windows 8.1 operating system along with the Nvidia graphics card drivers.

So, if you are looking for a mid-range gaming laptop go for the Maingear Pulse 15, it has all the features that you will find in any other gaming laptop. You can rent this system from your nearest computer rental store.
